ASUU TO STUDENT: CURRENT STRUGGLE TO PUT AN END TO ASUU STRIKE WAS A SACRIFICE FOR COMING GENERATION- ASUU PRESIDENT
THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT OF ACADEMIC STAFF UNION OF UNIVERSITIES ASUU PROF EMMANUEL OSODEKE JUST OF RECENT HAS SAID THE ONGOING LINGERING STRIKE WHICH HAS PARALYZED NIGERIA HIGHER INSTITUTIONS EDUCATION IS A SACRIFICE FOR COMING GENERATION TO HAVE ACCESS TO QUALITY AND STRIKE- FREE EDUCATION.
Prof Emmanuel Osodeke Said the strike embarked on by ASUU was a sacrifice by today's students for the upcoming Century. He said the struggle was aimed to make Education system easy for next generation. Osodeke revealed this during Academic staff Union of Universities Congress at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) ile- ife osun state.
He further said the current strike embarked on by ASUU will continued until federal government is ready to meet and implement all their demand.
" It was to be noted that the current strike that has almost enter 180 days is a struggle to make Nigerian Varsities Education a better one as before. This struggle by Academic staff Union of Universities ASUU and the students is not only for their benefit, it was also a struggle for the coming generation. We all know Nigeria Tertiary Education is already at mess, there should be a struggle for the future generation which is the one we are fighting for now."

Osodeke said Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU is ready to go extra mile on the current strike until federal government is ready to fully meet their demand. As a result of this current strike, A lot of Nigerian lecturer have left Nigeria for foreign County in search of Good Lecturing Employment.
" All Country Around the world took Education as a priority, Let look at united Kingdom when the Academic staff Union of Universities ASUU embarked on strike, They also embarked on strike but they are able to resolve it within two Days because they know importance of Education " ASUU President Said
He further noted that it is bad for a Government to fail in paying the salaries of Lecturer because they embarked on strike and see that as the only weapon to put an end to the strike.
Recall few month since ASUU strike started, Nigeria has recorded a great number of Both students and Lecturer that has left Nigeria for advanced Country In various Education Fields especially Medical Fields which is a great Danger to this country future. Both the students and Parent has appeal to Federal Government and Academic staff Union of Universities ASUU to put an end to the lingering strike which has enter 180 Days since February.
Rounding of his speech, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke said They are still adamant on their demand and are not ready to call off the strike until federal government is ready to Meet and Finalize All their Demand and put a permanent End to ASUU Strike.
The Striking Union Demand from Federal Government include Adoption of Newly Invented Payment Platform Which is UTAS created by ASUU to IPPIS Invented by Federal Government, Payment of Arrear wages and others.
